Project 2025 and Christian Nationalism

From the American Humanist Association:

Trump is already making good on his promise to Christian Nationalists. Project 2025 is underway. Our worst fears aren’t just hypothetical anymore they’re happening.

At the American Humanist Association, we believe the government should serve the people—not a religious agenda. That’s why we’ve spent over 80 years fighting for the separation of church and state. Because when the government plays favorites, we all lose.

And… at the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump made it clearer than ever: he doesn’t work for all Americans. He works for the Christian Nationalists trying to remake this country.

He promised them power.

“Deep in the soul of every patriot is the knowledge that God has a special plan and glorious mission for America. And that plan is going to happen. I hope it happens sooner rather than later. And it is his hand that guides us every single step of the way.”

“And we have to make religion a much more important factor now. We have to make it an important factor. If we do that, our job is just going to be much easier.”

And he ended with:

“I really believe you can’t be happy without religion. Without that belief. I don’t see how you can be. So let’s bring religion back. Let’s bring God back into our lives.”
