Our friends at Bucks Voices compiled some results that you will want to see!

What we learned in this Primary:

  1. Biden easily won the state-wide contest, beating Trump by more than 60,000 votes (not counting the 200,000 votes that went to Sanders)

  2. In Bucks, 18,000 more Ds voted than Rs.

  3. Biden outperformed Trump by over 10,000 votes (not counting the 12,000+ votes that went to Sanders) in Bucks.

  4. 66% of the D voters took advantage of Mail-In Ballots (MIBs)

  5. We need to increase the current 36.5% MIB rate and the 77.2% ballot return rate for our D voters in the November election

  6. All D state representative incumbents performed extremely well in the Primary beating their challengers

  7. Only one R state rep incumbent had more votes than their D challengers

  8.  We still have lots of work to do to increase State Rep candidates' name recognition and for voters to vote down ballot. Voters need to understand the importance of turning the state house blue in November.

The far-right R challenger Meehan gave Fitzpatrick a run with 37% of the votes. We can only hope the Trumpian Meehan voters will NOT vote for the "independent" Fitz in the general. Go Christina Finello!

Wendy Ullman, our D incumbent more than held her ground against her challenger. Wendy had 12% more votes than her Republican opponent at 1969 votes.

Other Doylestown stats of interest:

  • Democrat turnout rate was 56% for the 143rd and 61% for the greater Doylestown area.

  • The average mail in ballot rate for the 143rd was 75% and 77% for greater Doylestown.
